The Minister of Sports, Borko Ristovski, attended today the celebration of the first “Day of Italian Sports in the World”. This event, organized by the Embassy of Italy in Skopje, was held at the Military Stadium in the City Park in Skopje.

The event is promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy, in cooperation with the Italian Ministry of Sports and the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) and seeks to valorize the positive values - respect, passion, fair play and team spirit, characteristic of sport, which at the same time represent a very useful tool for strengthening cooperation and promoting dialogue between peoples.

– Thank you for the invitation to be part of this project for the promotion of Italian sport. I am particularly pleased because we managed to attract the Italian Embassy more to the side of sport, and less to the side of wine and food. It is an honor and pleasure for me to be part of this event today, especially because it involves young people who have decided to make sport a part of their lives. For us as the Ministry of Sports and for me as the relevant Minister, it is especially important that together we can promote true values. It is important for these young children who are present today and for all people in sports in general to be not only athletes, but also real people who will love their country, respect their people and cherish true values. The Ministry of Sports will always be a part of and will support such events – emphasized Minister Borko Ristovski.

This year’s edition of the “Day of Italian Sports in the World” pays special attention to football, one of the most beloved sports in Italy, but also in Macedonia
– These are opportunities to increase the importance of sports, to promote friendship between our peoples also through cheering. Good fun, long live football and the promotion of sports – indicated the Italian Ambassador, H.E. Andrea Silvestri in his opening speech.

At today’s event, the Macedonian fan clubs of the Italian teams were presented and the “Calcio Tricolore” Fans’ Association was promoted.
