Meet The Team
Minister of Sports
Borko Ristovski
Borko Ristovski is a prominent Macedonian handball player and sports manager. He was born on November 2, 1982.
Ristovski began his career as a handball player in RK Jug Skopje (1998/1999) and RK Makedonija Skopje (1999/2000), before joining RK Vardar. In RK Vardar Skopje, he built his career as a goalkeeper in the periods 2001/2002-2002/2003, 2010/2011, as well as 2019/2020-2022/2023, achieving significant successes.
His international success has taken him to clubs such as SD Tecro Pontevedra, CB Algeciras in Spain, Metalurg Skopje, Vfl Gummersbach in Germany, Al Ahly in Egypt, US Creteil in France, Rhein-Neckar Lowen in Germany, Barcelona in Spain, Benfica in Portugal, and TBV Lemgo in Germany. At each of these clubs, Ristovski has displayed exceptional skills, winning numerous titles and accolades.
In 2023, Ristovski was appointed CEO of RK Vardar.
Borko Ristovski holds a degree from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Tourism and Management in Skopje, specializing in finance and management.
His contribution to sports and the community has been recognized with several awards, including: the Order of Honorary Citizen of the Republic of Macedonia (2012) and the Medal of Merit for Macedonia (2017), awarded by the President of the Republic of Macedonia.
Ristovski is fluent in English, Spanish, Portuguese and German.

Deputy Minister
Safiye Sadiki Shaini
Safije Sadiki Shaini is a university professor, MP and currently Deputy Minister of Sports in the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia.
Born on 04 May 1988 and raised in Slupčane, she began her academic career at the University of Tetovo, where she graduated as an engineer in computer science in 2012.
She received her master’s degree in 2017 in the field of computer science, with a topic on online systems, marketing and e-business. She is currently a candidate for doctoral studies at the South East European University, with research focused on machine learning and predicting the duration of the publication of laws within the framework of an e-parliament.
She began her work experience as an assistant in computer science at the University of Tetovo (2012–2019), and then continued at the Mother Teresa University in Skopje, where she works to this day.
In parallel with her academic career, she actively participates in political life. From 2020 to 2024, she is a member of the Parliament of the Republic of North Macedonia. In November 2023, she was appointed coordinator of the parliamentary group consisting of the political parties Alternative, Democratic Movement and Besa Movement.
Safije is fluent in Albanian, Macedonian and English, and has basic knowledge of French.
