Minister of Sports Borko Ristovski met today with the President of the Macedonian Football Federation, Masar Omeragic, to discuss the initiative of the two institutions aimed at developing Macedonian football and sports in general.
The discussion, which was also attended by the Secretary General of the Macedonian Football Federation, Drilon Ganiu, focused on the allocation of funds from the state budget intended for sports, improving infrastructure, investing in grassroots programs and national competitions.
Minister of Sports Borko Ristovski confirmed his commitment to funding football and sent a message of partnership with the Macedonian Football Federation and support for the Federation’s initiatives, emphasizing that the development of football is aligned with national sports policies.
Both the Minister and the President of the Macedonian Football Federation stressed the importance of cooperation focused on the public interest. They agreed with the proposal for an equal distribution of funds from the Ministry of Sports for clubs that meet the conditions for state support.
-Our commitment is to support the Football Federation of Macedonia. Football is a public interest and we must help by ensuring fairness and growth at all levels – emphasized Minister Ristovski.
The meeting also discussed plans to improve the infrastructure of the stadiums, improve training centers and support the youth teams.
-We are people from sports and we are really happy that together with the Ministry of Sports we are starting a new level of cooperation, professionalism and transparency. We appreciate the support of the Government in creating conditions for the development of sports. One of the key things we agreed on is the distribution of funds from the Ministry of Sports intended for clubs. Equal treatment for all is our priority and we will realize it. We have a clear vision for investing in football and sports in general, and when you have a partner who knows exactly the needs, then it is much easier – emphasized the President of the FFM, Masar Omeragic.
The meeting also discussed domestic league matches, attracting investments and improving the overall quality of Macedonian football.
