After decades of divisions in Macedonian swimming, today we can proudly say that we finally have a unification in the interest of the sport. At this Assembly of the National Swimming Federation, both divided sides stood behind the election of the president of the federation who received unanimous support from all clubs participating in the Assembly, emphasized the Minister of Sports Borko Ristovski in his address to the attendees.
Ristovski attended today’s electoral Assembly of the National Swimming Federation, at which Sasho Lazarovski was unanimously elected as the new president.
The Minister expressed satisfaction with this unifying moment in Macedonian swimming and announced that the Ministry of Sports will mediate and directly assist in resolving the problems that have burdened this sport for years.
“I want to greet everyone who accepted my initiative for unification in swimming and to repeat what I said at the meetings with representatives from both sides. And that is that after the election of the new president of the National Swimming Federation, the Ministry of Sports will mediate and directly assist in resolving the problems that have accumulated in this sport and that the federation’s account will be unblocked as soon as possible. We must not allow divisions to be detrimental to swimming, swimmers and all children involved in this sport,” said Minister Ristovski.
